About The Founders

Chris Macleod is a Canadian lawyer who is known around the world as a pre-eminent practitioner in the area of commercial litigation.

He has spoken and presented on over 100 occasions to national, state, city and provincial bar associations in the United States and Canada on various legal issues.

Since 2002 Chris has acted for numerous commercial landlords in the GTHA. He has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, and he has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Chris MacLeod

Ruzbeh Hosseini is a Canadian lawyer specializing in commercial litigation. Ruzbeh has broad experience in representing landlords in evictions for non-payment of rent and lease defaults.

In addition to extensive commercial litigation experience, Ruzbeh Hosseini has trained to be an arbitrator. He is regularly involved in mediation and domestic and international arbitration proceedings.

Joe Figliomeni is a litigation lawyer with a wide breadth of experience dealing with landlord and tenant, estates and business disputes. He has represented commercial landlords and tenants involved in property damage claims, and claims for unpaid or overpaid rent. Joe has also developed specific expertise in the law of injunctions, obtaining Court orders on behalf of commercial landlords and tenants dealing with urgent disputes that have can have a serious and irreparable impact on their businesses.

Joan Kasozi is an associate lawyer that focuses on commercial litigation. She has appeared at various levels of court including the Ontario Superior Court, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario and British Columbia. Joan has also represented clients in arbitrations and tribunal hearings and has extensive experience representing landlords in evictions for non-payment of rent and lease defaults.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science with a minor in French from the University of Toronto. Subsequent to receiving her undergraduate degree, Ms. Kasozi obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. While at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, Ms. Kasozi served as the Co-Chair of the Black Law Students Association and coordinated activities designed to improve access to Law Schools for students from low income households. Ms. Kasozi subsequently obtained an LL.M from Osgoode Hall Law School, where her focus was on Business, Banking, and ADR.
